LUGGAGE DOOR WARNING

Biliyorsunuz kapılardan herhangi birisi ya da bagaj kapağı açık kaldıysa panelde kırmızı uyarı ışığı yanar. Ama açık olan bagaj mıdır yoksa kapı mı bilemezsiniz. Herkes kapısını bir kez açıp kapatır. Yine olmazsa bilirsiniz ki sorun bagajdır. Aptalca değil mi?!

Son derece basit bir işlemle bu sorunu çözmek mümkün. Bagaj açık sinyali aktif low olarak siyah/mavi bir kablo ile ana sigorta kutusuna bütünleşik merkezi bağlantı kutusuna geliyor. C15 konnektörünün 1 numaralı bacağına. Normalde (bagaj kapalı iken) bu uçta, bagaj ampulünden geçerek gelen + 12V gerilim mevcut. Bagaj kapağı açılınca 0V oluyor. Ehh o zaman anodu bir dirençle + 12V’a, katodu da bu siyah/mavi kabloya bağlı bir LED sorunu çözer.

You know, there is an odd feature of the Focus. There is a single warning light for the open doors and the open luggage door. Often you cannot find out at first sight which one is left open. There is a simple solution for this.

The “luggage door open” signal is an active low signal coming via a black/blue wire to the No:1 pin of the connector C15 at the central junction box. An appropriately prepared LED with the anode at +12V and cathode (of course there must be a resistor in series too) at No:1 pin of the connector C15 would do the trick.

This is a yellow 3 mm LED. A resistor of 1 kohms has been soldered to one of the pins and the pins are secured using shrink tubing. I thought this placement (lower left) would be OK.

3 mm bir delik delip LED’i syanoakrilat ve sıcak silikonla yapıştırdım. Kabloyu da sabitledim. Sonra sigorta kutusunun kapağını açıp, plastik çerçeveyi 5 vidasını sökerek çıkarıp, iki somunu da açarak sigorta kutusunu yerinden çıkardım. İlgili kabloyu bulup test ettim ve yandan maket bıçağı ile sıyırıp kabloyu bağladım ve izole ettim. Diğer kabloyu da sürekli +12V içeren bir sigortaya bağladım. Hepsini topladım. İş bitti. Bakın...

A 3 mm hole has been drilled and the LED has been mounted using cyanoacrylate glue and hot silicone. Then the central junction box has been removed and the necessary connections have been made. Tihs is the result.

Sanki çift LED’miş gibi ama üstteki ışığın panel çerçevesinden yansıması. Kullanım çok basit. Eğer sadece paneldeki kırmızı lamba yanıyorsa kapılardan biri açık. Eğer kırmızı uyarı ile birlikte benim sarı LED de yanıyorsa bagaj açık demektir. Aslında siyah/mavi kabloyu konnektörden kesip ayırsaydım o zaman kırmızı uyarı ışığı “sadece” kapıları, sarı da sadece bagajı gösterecekti. O da bir seçenek...

It seems to be two LEDs but the upper light is simply a reflection. Now, if both “my” LED and the red warning light illuminates simultaneously it means that the luggage door is open. If only the red light is on that means that one of the doors is open. There is another alternative. You can cut the black/blue wire to the connector C15. In this case the yellow LED will be the “luggage door open” warning and the red light will be “a door is open” warning.
